. This Laptop was originally purchased directly from Sony for over ,500. The previous owner activated the PC, and then stopped using it for many years until I received it from them. When I booted up the unit and checked the SMART hard disk data, the computer had a shocking 6 hours of total usage, ever, on the hard disk SMART data. After my comprehensive testing, the PC has only a bit over 3 days of total usage, ever.
Brand new condition, with original Sony OEM battery registering 100% charge capacity in battery testing software.
The PC came shipped with Windows Vista Home Basic OS, with
full drivers and software from Sony currently installed
(very rare, since Sony does not distribute drivers anymore for this PC). Since Windows Vista has reached end-of-life as an operating system and does not cooperate with many websites, software, and updates; this computer was set up to dual-boot Linux Mint, so that you can use the PC with modern websites, media, and other tasks in
Linux Mint without worrying about slowdowns or security risks associated with Vista
. You can choose which operating system you like from the boot up loader screen- use the arrow keys to select the OS of your choice, and click enter to load it up.
Both Linux Mint and Vista fully support all of the hardware and work well

It's a great supplement to the internal 60GB hard drive.
The laptop has
class-leading features for its day including an extremely vivid widescreen display, webcam, microphone, bluetooth, quick internal wifi, and software for an integrated 3G modem
- although I am not sure if the PC has the physical modem chip installed.
Windows Vista has
full Microsoft Works office suite installed and activated, and Microsoft Office suite (2007) installed, but not yet activated
. Linux Mint has full
Libreoffice suite installed, Mozilla Firefox, VLC
, and other popular and helpful software pre-installed. The battery life ranges from 1-3 hours, depending on use. This laptop folds down to a dimunitive ~5" x ~10" to about the size of a "clutch" style purse. Very thin at about 1" folded. It's so compact, that it can fit into many pants pockets- while maintaining full laptop keyboard and functionality. The PC uses a Sony trackpoint to move the mouse cursor which is responsive and very intuitive to use.
