Hi there! Thanks for your interest in my item. To answer some common query,  this item is supposed to shoot just 2 to 3 ft. distance underwater, just like the deep sea scuba spearguns which also have a distance of just 3 to 4 ft.  Any further distance underwater is not too accurate to shoot a target.  We included 7 ft. of fishing line just to secure the arrow or shafti as it is commonly known. So 1 to 3 ft. distance is advisable. Pls. browse all scuba spear guns and notice that the shaft has an average length of 3 ft.  Thanks for your time reading this
