    Description

For all you Vintage Divers, Fetish Divers, or a little of both, this is an Avon XL Neck Entry Drysuit I am willing to sell only for the right price.
This is a Neck Entry Drysuit that hasn't been modified where others have installed a zipper that are nearly impossible to find.
The Wrist Seals and Neck Seal have totally deteriorated and are in need of restoration. The suit in whole appears to have a significant amount of stretch with some sort of fiber infused rubber polymer material on the inside. The boot soles show moderate wear, however still have a bit of tread left. The only modification I am able to observe is the replacement of the inflation valve with a tire patch done by a prior owner. The patch appears to have been professionally done. I have not tested the Drysuit for leaks and there might be leaks at some of the seams or boots, however I am not able to find any separations, tears, or holes in the Drysuit. There are no signs or any indication or known prior urine stains or any other bodily fluids inside or outside the Drysuit. The Drysuit has no unpleasant odor, unless you consider aging rubber to be unpleasant. The odor might be a mix of rubber and sweat, however any sweat odor is not distinguishable by me. The Drysuit is an Extra Large that measures 40 inches at waist without stretching and could fit someone up to 6'4". Estimating the boots to be a Men's US size 11 or 12. I am 5'10" with heavy build and this suit is significantly larger than I am. The ideal restoration would require new wrist seals and a new Neck Entry Neck Seal, however there are no guarantees the suit could handle the stretching stress created while suiting someone into this Rubber Drysuit.
Additional measurements to help with sizing:
Inseam from groin to bottom of boot is 38 inches.
Boot insole measures approximately 11.25 inches.
Sleeve from pit to sleeve measures 24 inches.
Certain items shown in the photos such as the Rubber Gloves, Rubber Hood, or The Gimp are not included with the sale.
This Drysuit when it's restored in it's original form requires an assistant for getting in and getting out. Once inside this Drysuit, it's effectively a Rubber Prison until someone lets you out. I have heard of people trying to squirm there way inside the Drysuit Solo, however once that neck seal snaps tightly around their neck, they won't have the ability to stretch it by themselves to work their way out.
My original plans were to replace the deteriorated wrist seals with permanently attached rubber gloves and possible a more pliable neck seal, however I never came to taking any action on the Drysuit, nor have I found a solution acceptable to me for the Neck Entry Opening. One of the ideas I considered was to attach thick hazmat rubber gloves and build on the neck entry with a zipper closer to make it a fully enclosed body bag to includes head and all, however thought this to be too dangerous. My wife is wanting me to get rid of some of my stuff, however I need to be firm on the sales price.
I recently tried to inflate the suit to test it for leaks, however due to the large Neck Entry Opening, I was not able to apply any sustainable air pressure to accurately test it for leaks without the plastic pot that I used as a stopper from shooting off. The I was able to put about an inch pound of pressure into it without seeing any obvious leaks or damaged seams.
I have recently seen several Avon Drysuits sold, however they have been modified by adding a zipper. I have also heard of divers using a Russian 3-Bolt Dive Helmet, but neither idea appeals to me.
As with any sort of Diving Equipment and Divers Drysuits; they can be dangerous and even cause death if improperly used or used without assistance.
Shipping would be Large Flat Rate Box. Package would be 9 lbs 12 oz with dimensions of 12 x 12 x 6.
