    With a 2-position On-Off switch, it is totally automatic in the Cycle mode.  If you have a 3-position On-Off-On switch (also known as an SPDT type switch), you can set your switch for Automatic mode or Continuous Run mode.  Most 2-position switches can be replaced with a 3-position SPDT switch.
