Alienware 17 R4 GTX 1070 i7-8750H 32GB Ram. Condition is "Used". Shipped with FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery.Hello,
I am selling an Alienware 17 R4 in used condition.
The flaws: There are a few flaws with this machine, though gaming performance is not impacted.
First, the screen has a really thin green line going vertically on the right side. This sounds bad, and it can be if you notice it, but you will honestly forgot it's there 99.9% of the time. I took some pictures and its noticeable at some points, but when your gaming, it will be virtually unnoticeable. And I am really trying to honest here, it is noticeable if you remember it, but games and movies look totally normal.
Second, some of the keys and part of the palmrest have damage to them. The palmrest has a small crack, (before I bought), the left arrow has a crack through it, and the 3 on the numbad will not click back into place. Also, there are some small dents on the back plate, which is missing most the screws as well. In my opinion, the screws are not a big deal as there are plastics clams and one screw that's always attached. It easy to access the vitals and the screws were kinda annoying. So for all these flaws that were just listed, please see pictures above.
Third flaw, the on board speakers are kinda messed up and muffled (again this was there before I bought, I don't why). Also, the battery is finicky as in you unplug and it will befine, but you just can't move it most of the times unplugged or else then the computer will shut off. I don't why it does that, but take that for you will and factor that into how big of deal that is too you. I use a USB speaker that goes on the top, (shown in first picture), and that does a pretty good job for me and will come with the laptop.
Those are the flaws and I want to be honest and don't want to surprise anyone.
Now the specs.
It's a 17.3 screen, 1920x1080. It also has G-SYNC on it, which makes a ton differen in some games. In RD2, I can get about 50 fps in the snow, but its very smooth.
It has an i7-8750H with a GTX 1070 8gb solution. I have upgraded ram so it's now up to 32gb at 2666 speeds. Apex, COD, Gta V, etc.. all play on 60fps+ at ultra, or ultra-high mix (Gta and Assassins CREED Unity). One thing I will say is amazing is the noise, it's stays super quiet. I never had to use headphones when playing games due to fan noise. The Temps stay very cool for a laptop as well.
There is a 256 SSD boot drive with a 1tb 7200rpm HDD. There is also another m.2 slot. It also comes with an RGB cooling pad, the fan is OK, I just use it more for elevation though.
Ports are pretty standard.
2x USB 3.0
1x USB-C
1x USB-C thunderbolt
(I kinda like how it has two, for future accessories)
Headphone in
Mic in
Hdmi
Displyport
Alienware adapter port
Etherenet
Comes with a 240w power adapter.
This laptop is fun, but does have some flaws.
The performance is not hindered at all and it's still easy to move around the house or LAN at friends.
Let me know about any questions.
