  • Condition: GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION ~ These plates do have a few small chips along the rims. Only 2 plates have a chip that can be seen from the top. The other flaws are on the undersides of the rims. None are significant to affect use. One has a minor hairline in the center of the plate that does not reach the rim, and should not affect use. These show age related crazing, and normal wear such as utensil marks and wear to the gold trim. Gold verge trim is pretty much worn away, as is common in old pieces such as these. Please take their age into consideration. If you are wanting mint condition then most likely these aren't for you. They still have lots of life left however, and are still desirable pieces. Would be good replacement pieces for a frequently used set.

    The Royalty Cobalt 1559 Pattern Features a Cobalt Blue Outer Band with Gold Leafy Accents, Gold Bands, and Thin Gold Ring Around the Verge.

    family run business based in the Staffordshire Potteries, England.
    Stamped on the Underside of Each: "Myott, Son & Co. Ltd. Made in England" with the Myott Crown in Green, and "1559 ROYALTY" in Gold Gilt
    Research indicates these were manufactured after 1942, since in
    1942 Myott became incorporated as a limited company - Myott, Son & Co. Ltd. Before that they were just Myott, Son & Co.
    The backstamp should place these plates with a manufacture date between 1942-1960.
