This sashigane is modified from one hand made oil quenched 1060 carbon steel polished straight blade ( please check out the last gallery photo for details ). And that polished
straight blade in the gallery photo is for information only, it is NOT part of this auction.
Just like any old and new japanese katanas and wakizashis, if too much force is applied to this steel sashigane / tsuka holder, it will be bent as this 18 inch long steel holder is only sized about 26 x 6 mm on the base side, and 20 x 4 mm on the top side.
So please do NOT buy this item if you want a steel
